Google announced the other day that Chromebooks will be coming out June 15th, or at least you'll be able to order them June 15th. These are the specifications of both the Samsung and Acer models they announced.

As you can see, they both have an Intel Atom Dual-Core Processor, about a 12 inch screen, dual band Wi-Fi and 3G, HD Webcam, HD Audio, 2 USB ports, 4-in-1 memory card slot, Chrome keyboard, and a trackpad.

The only difference I can see is that the Samsung's battery power lasts about 2.5 hours longer than the Acer one, and the video output connection, either HDMI or Mini-VGA.

I think I will wait until i have money to buy a Chromebook with everything here, 8+ hours of battery life, and HDMI output.

PSN Is STILL Down!

THAT is how I feel. Sony, they only delay everything!

Who here remembers the long wait we had to go through for PlayStation Home? It was cool in the closed beta, now it sucks! Actually, now it's gone! That wait was a bit excessive. If I remember correctly, we waited almost a year and a half for it, and they cut out all the features that made it cool, like voice chat, because it was a "strain on [there] servers"! Strain my ass! They have enough money, put some more into that! Then and only then will you get people to actually enjoy PS Home.

Now, believe me, I'm not against Sony, it's just, come on. I bought my PS3 when they were $400 the February of 2009. For those of you that weren't here, it's the year they made them $300, and boy was I mad then!

On the other hand, it could be a smart move. Sony heads have obviously heard the rumors of the attack that's supposed to happen this weekend. They could be keeping the servers down for that. I doubt it though.

Well, I guess I'll just go back to playing Half-Life online on my P.O.S. PC. This is Fredbob3 singing off of this rant.

Yes, I know that the PlayStation Network is down, and yes I know it is probably because of some hackers. But long story short, there's a PSN Trophy and Steam Achievement for "hug[ing] 3 people on your friends list" called Friends List With Benefits, and I am willing to friend (and hug) people that need the Trophy/Achievement. Also, if you want, we can help each other on the game, I am on Section 4 of 5 in the co-op mode at time of posting. I'll update this when I have my Trophy/Achievement, and when i can be a tutor for people who need to learn how to complete Portal 2 co-op.

My Life With PlayStation

Today, I watched the YouTube video posted below. By the time it was over I had a build-up in my chest of pure, awesome, epic, respect and pride. For you see, I have been with PlayStation since day one, September 9th 1995, even though I may not remember it since I was only almost 1-year-old at the time. About 3 years ago I got deep into gaming. No I was never that cussing 12-year-old you always hear about online, because at that time I only had a PS2, and PS3's weren't out in the U.S. yet. I love PlayStation so dearly I bought all their systems, and am devoted enough I own only their systems. My game console history has been PlayStation, PS2, PSP, and now PS3. I have only the latter two now, but if it were up to me, I'd have all four. Enough dibble-dabble, into the footage.

Yes, now you see what I am talking about? You reading this now should feel exactly the same way. Peace, Love to all PlayStation lovers out there, I wanna here you're stories in the comments.

We're Back In Full

We all have full time internet access now, besides school. There's been a lot of news since we've been gone, like:

PS3 being hacked, almost
inFAMOUS 2
Killzone 3

So, let's go in order.

PS3 being hacked: thanks to much help from George Hotz, in early February 2010, the PS3's hypervisor was breached. I said almost because there was a lot of nothing about it until about a month ago. Then there was PSJailbreak, which cost money like $40. Then there was a lot more ports. Now, what I'm looking forward to, PSGroove, which will supposedly let me hack my PS3 with my hacked PSP.

inFAMOUS 2: New sequel to the 2008 best-seller, inFAMOUS, inFAMOUS 2 will follow Cole out of Empire City into a New Jersey like city called New Marais. There was a lot of dispute over the makeover Sucker Punch gave Cole, including a new facial structure, and hair. Don't worry, they put him back, mostly. He looks a lot like his old self now. He will have all his old powers, and learn new telekinetic powers.

Killzone 3 will be released on February 22nd, 2011.

If you have used the Google Chrome browser, you probably like it for it's speed, stability, and security. Would you like an Operating System just like it? Chrome OS, based on the Google Chrome browser, was released last November in a source code form. people scrambled to put it together into an OS, and many more people scrambled to get their hands on it. 2 months later, you can now get your hands on better, smaller builds. One was released 10 days ago called Google Chrome Zero. You can get that build here. It was built by a man screen named Hexxeh, and is supposed to be very good. I will post an update with a small preview once i have it downloaded.

What Is The Formula For The Best Game

I was playing the new Codemasters racer Fuel, and thought "Hey, I know what would be awesome. If this games cars had damage." Then i thought how to organize that idea into a list for developers to get the idea of what we want. So, what would be the formula for the best game ever. I have a few Ideas.

Black Mesa: Source has been Delayed!

In 2004, the Black Mesa team started working on a Half-Life 2 mod called Black Mesa, and it was going to be a remake of Half-Life (1998) with increased graphics. (Read more about it at www.blackmesasource.com.)

The team proudly promised over their five years of working on the mod that they would release it in 2009 through it's "when it's done" approach. However, leader Carlos Montero recently announced over the Black Mesa forums that Black Mesa, despite their efforts, would not be releasing Black Mesa this year. The developers say that they will try to release it as soon as they decide they are finished with their end results. Until then, make your bets about when it will release, and hold onto your crowbars.

Chrome OS Is Out!

Okay, not a full official build. The source code for Google's Chrome OS is out and people have made some different types of builds, most (if not all) for virtualbox and vmware. Still its exciting, this time next year we will be able to see how far it has come along and get official releases, already installed on netbooks. That's what I'm waiting for, Chrome OS to be already installed on a computer specifically designed for it. Are you excited for it? Are you a good coder and will help Google out? I know if I could code, I would definately make my own stuff for it.

The Orange Box

One thing you have to think about when buying a game is the ratio of money spent to time played. One of the best looking ratios is for The Orange Box at $20 for 20 around hours.

The Orange Box includes Half-Life 2, one of the most critically acclaimed games ever, plus HL2: Episodes One AND Two. There's 3 of the 5 games right there.

Then there's Portal, a strategy-platformer with good graphics. Portal is a game where you have a gun that instead of shooting bullets, it shoots portals.

Lastly, there's Team Fortress 2. If you've never heard of the game, then your probably thinking it's an RPG. It's not. It's an awesome online multi-player shooter with crazy weapons.

Basically, if you like shooters and a little comedy in them, The Orange Box is a great buy. Especially for how cheap it is, $20. I got it for $15 at Game Exchange.

It's a secret, we cant let our government overlords know about our plans!Just wanted you to know about my next buy. Big news from Gamescom, the E3 of the UK! Sony just annouced that they have dropped the price of the PS3 (something that has been expected for months, and it will certainly help there system sell) and will release there long awited PS3 slim Setember 1st.

Another good thing is they have announced firmware update 3.00 that has revamped the XMB and has added animated backgrounds. They have also replaced the Information Board with a much cooler What's New section, and shortcuts to the "latest and greatest" in the PSStore. IN additon, there is now a mini PSN status display telling you how many friend are online and if you have any messages.

Now...introducing Google's very Chrome OS!

The Operating System is designed to be used entirely for the web and built mainly for net-books, and can get you online in just a matter of seconds! The Operating system itself is a Linux distribution and open source, so you can freely modify the source code any way that you'd like and then redistribute it.

The Operating system is going to be available to net-books with intel and ARM processors.

Also, Google announced that the Chrome OS will feature a novel security architecture. According to Google's official announcement, they will be "going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don't have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates".

This operating system is not to be confused with Goobuntu, a derivative of Ubuntu Linux.

If you think its a scam, let me explain it to you. There are sites that have visitors, like prize-rebels. Then they're are sites that need visitors so they pay other sites, like prize-rebels, to give them visitors. Prize-rebels gets paid, and prize-rebels pays you half of what prize-rebels gets payed. Prize-rebels. lol. What kind of prizes? Anything. Gaming stuff primarily, but if you find something on eBay or Wal-mart.com, they can have it custom-ordered for you. [Rumor] PS3 3.00 Firmware Update

In case you haven't seen the rumors around the web beginning to boil about the next firmware update for the PS3, here is the list of supposed specs.

Grief Reporting - If someone or something is spotted online that can be viewed as harmful, explicit, or offensive, you will be able to take a screenshot of it and submit it to Sony for review.

Reputation System - You will be given a reputation, where if yo post something bad, your reputation will go down, and if gets low enough there is possibility of being banned.

Background Patches - You will now be able to download patches in the background.

There is also speculation that there will be an overhaul like the NXE, but I, nor G4TV, think that that will happen. And, the whole thing has been shot down by SCEA's Patrick Seybold, saying that the whole thing is wild speculation. I hope and think that there will be the rest though. It has been rumored for release before Christmas, and I hope it comes ASAP.

RFID chip implants

For those of you who haven't heard, my dad is getting an RFID implant soon.

So, what exactly is "RFID"?

Well, RFID (Radio-frequency identification) is what al the products use in wal-mart so that an alarm will go off when someone steals something and walks out the door. They are the little square thing inside that appears to be metallic and sticks.

Recently, my dad decided to get one IMPLANTED into his hand. I am not up for the idea, the process is long and painful. However, they are only $10.

These can be programed to do all sorts of things, though. Like, for instance, when he walks into a room, the chip will tell the lights to come on. There a hundreds of things you can program them to do. Like when he swipes his hand over his computer, it's unlocked, and he has access to his files. The downside? IT HURTS.

I Broke My PSP!

Recently I went swimming in my grandmas friends pool. I had my psp in my swimming trunks pocket planning to pull it out and play music with it. When I got in the pool i had totally forgotten to pull it out of my pocket! It will only work for about 5 minutes at a time, so if anyone wants it for $25 email me. Also, if anyone wants to donate to me for the cause of me getting a new psp, that'd be great.

Update: It works, but i need a battery and a new screen.

Project Natal

"No strings (or controllers) attached"..."For us, this E3 is about breaking down barriers...in a way only XBOX 360 can."...

These are just some of the things that Microsoft has said about their new way of gaming called "Project Natal". No, this is not supposed to be a name for a painful error on the XBOX 360!

Project Natal is what Microsoft agrees with, "revolutionary" and a "new" way to play, by only using the player's hands and feet, if they see a ball, they can "catch" it, "throw" it, "kick" it, lick it, "hit" it, or even "trap" it! As long as you can move your hands, shake your hips or speak , then you and your friends can jump into the "fun" -- the only experience needed is life experience!

So, this may remind you of the Wii, right? Well, this is supposed to be safer than the Wii! Haven't you seen what kinds of medical problems have been caused by the Wii? With the Natal project winning people over, and no controller or remote required, people are less likely to take any physical damage during gameplay.

Teleportation glitch in The Orange Box (360)

I was playing Half-Life 2: Episode 1 on the Orange Box for the 360 yesterday for the commentaries, and I came across a useful, hence nifty trick that will get the player anywhere he/she wishes. If you try this, in, say, Portal, you might get something like this: You start out without the Portal gun, then you can pop up in a spot where you are supposed the Portal gun, but don't. This is especially fun in the Half-Life 2 stories.

1.) Start The Orange Box with either Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, or Portal.
NOTE: THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH HALF-LIFE 2. IT DOES WORK FOR TEAM FORTRESS 2, BUT IT IS NOT AS INTERESTING.

2.) Start the game of your choosing in Developer Commentary mode, it is recommended that you start from the first chapters.

3.) When you have the ability to at least move around, try and hit the left trigger (not bumper) and X simultaneously, this has to be done just right if you want to teleport.
That's it! Eventually, I'll edit this post with a video tutorial, in case you can't understand this in words.

New Grand Theft Auto for PSP May Surprise Some

2K to release Bioshock/Oblivion Bundle

Gamers all around the world are getting ready for July 7th, the day that 2K games will release Bioshock and Oblivion , both award winning games, as a bundle for $40 for the XBOX 360. That's a pretty good deal that fits most people's budget! As for the PC, the bundle will be about $10 less than the XBOX 360 version. But...where's the PS3 verison?

Either it's Microsoft paying to have a window of exclusivity (most likely scenario) or some personal relationships between big names from both camps.

As for the folks saying how it's so unfair, the PS3 experience is still just as good as the 360, just with different games and first-party titles making up for the content Microsoft buys out from third parties.

It's a pretty big deal for those PS3 fans. Some people have already gone and bought an XBOX 360 just for the deal!

How to Get Custom Firmware

Recently I dug deep and found the guts to cut open my battery and cut it up. So I'm going to make a quick guide to show you how to get custom firmware on a PSP Slim. By the way, custom firmware is not illegal. It is running ISO's that you have downloaded off the internet that is. That being said, I do not condone any illegal activity. (I said that just to cover my ass)

Step No.1 Making the Magic Memory Stick

Note: If you make the pandora battery first without another way to connect your memory stick to your computer, i.e. slot, cable, another psp..., YOU. ARE. AN. IDIOT. That being said, lets get back to work.

You need a program that makes magic memory sticks. For the one I used, click here. You will also have to have ofw update 5.00. To get this, click here. Download the program and the update and when thats done run the program and follow the on-screen instructions and there you have it, a Magic Memory Stick. By the way, I used a 2 gig and theres something in PSP Grader 8 that lets you boot your pandora battery as a normal battery. I have no idea which memory sticks you can use, all I know is you can also use a 1 gig cuz thats what my friend uses. (Not Midgetguy, he has a psp but is scared of ripping off the devs)

Step No.2 (no giggle) Making a Pandora Battery.

Now, for all I know, your gonna have to take a knife along the indented part of the batteryand force it open. then you cut here.

If you cant see it says "It says to cut here but I cut that and that i destroyed and took that thing completely off." I got crazy with it.

And it works! I dont know what all you actually need to cut off, but try the silver wire first, the take the silver and black box off, then try to cut the gold wire.

Step No.3 Installing Custom Firmware

Make sure your battery is either good and charged or is plugged into the wall Now, unless you changed the button, hold down L when you turn it on. It had to be all the way, off not just in sleep mode. If everything went smoothly, you should see a screen that says to Insall 5.00 m33, Install 5.00 ofw, and a list of other stuff. Select "Install 5.00 m33" and wait about five minutes. Make sure you dont take the memory stick, the charger, or the battery out while its installing. When its done, hit X to reboot or O to shutdown and congradulations, you have custom firmware.

Troubleshooting:

Q: When I turn on my PSP and hold down the L button, the green light comes on but the screen stays blank. What did I do wrong?

A: You either put in a different button while making the mms or you didnt make the mms correctly but the pandora battery is working fine.

Things you should know about cfw 5.00 m33:

When in the XMB, pressing select pulls up what is called the vsh menu. it controls how fast the cpu goes for longer battery life or faster performance. It also has options to shutdown or reboot your PSP.

When turning it on after a shutdown, hold R to go into recovery mode to enable plugins, enable wma playback, and more advanced settings.

Recently (I just got back in fact), I was at my sisters baseball game and my brother asked if he could play my PSP, knowing that I always have it on me. So, I let him play MX vs. ATV Unleashed. I went on a walk around the gates of the field to encourage my sister. When i came back he was still playing and three other kids were watching him. I learned they were his friends from past years of baseball and wanted a PSP for themselves after watching him play. Above is the picture I decided to take with my cell phone. I still can't believe these little things draw a crowd.

E3 News: PSP Resident Evil game!

Along with many other awesome game announcements, Rockstar (The critically acclaimed masterminds behind the Grand Theft Auto series) has announced their latest game was reveiled as a Playstation 3 exclusive entitled "Agent"!

Other than the announcement itself, not much else was told about the game...

Rockstar has said that they're trying to create the "ultimate action game"! The game is said to take place in various settings across the globe, and the player should be expected to participate in spy-related activities...

E3 News: PSP Go!

E3 was last week, and I'm sure that you've heard of all the amazing news! Formally announced at E3 (and in-formally leaked on the internet before hand) was the PSP Go! The PSP Go! is a new PSP iteration that caters towards consumers who are comfortable with digital distribution.

What does that mean?

Well, basicly the PSP Go! lacks a UMD drive... instead the PSP Go! will primarily play downloaded games. Here's a list of all of the PSP Go!'s new specs:

-New smaller design

-Sliding screen

-16 Gigabytes of internal memory

-Memory Stick Micro slot (up to 16 additional Gigs.)

-Added Bluetooth functionality

As many of you have heard (from previous posts and such) Xi in Playstation Home continues to get bigger exponentially!

Well, just a 2 days ago we were proposed with a choice:

Which side are we on?

The choices as of today:

Genesis Collective: They believe that Xi is a virus that could potentially destroy the monetary system of the world! They feel that they should find Xi, activate it, and potentially save the world!

VeilCorp: They are a large corporation that feels that Xi is their own property! They want all who are pursuing Xi to cease their search immediately or drastic measures will be taken!

SpartaAFK: The newest of the three groups so far, SpartaAFK doesn't force a belief upon others. All they want is to find Xi before anyone else! They show a distinct hate towards VeilCorp and say that they are forcing views on others, and that they're trying to control their followers... Either way, SpartaAFK is basicly a group of pursuers who want to find Xi and find it fast! They're curious, and they want to find out exactly what Xi is!

Sony to dominate E3 2009?

Sony has a ton of new games coming to the PS3 and PSP this year, as well as some recent new rumors (PSP Go!?) and new patented ideas (New PS3 motion conroller/Robot?!?) So what does this mean for Sony in 2009? Well...

Lately there has been a plethora of news on Sony's attempt to revamp the PSP. In case you've been living under a rock for the past month or so, here are some of the highlights:

-TONS of exclusive Games coming to PSP (LBP, Motorstorm, Soul Calibur, and more.)

-Rumors of the PSP Go!

-New bundles (Assassins Creed bundle, Hannah Montana Bundle, Rock Band Unplugged bundle)

Now, all this gives me reason to believe that Sony's portable will take at least one of the spotlights at this years E3 show. It would only make sense, right? I mean, Sony definately has multiple aces up their gaming industry sleeve, so it's only a matter of time before they play a few. Here are my "speculations" on what we just might see at E3 on Sony's side:

-A lot of new showcases of PS3 and PSP exclusives that were already announced (MAG, LBP PSP etc...)

-Home? (Xi should end right around the time E3 starts... so, put two and two together and you get...?)

-New PS3 peripherals? (There have been a lot of new patents floating around on the web!)

-Dress! For Home? (Design and purchase clothing for real-world AND virtual world through Home?)

-New PSP models/bundles?

-Some new PSP and PS3 exclusive games we haven't heard of yet! (Every E3 there are amazing games announced for the first time... seeing how things have been lately (awesome) I'm VERY excited to see what's next!

-More PS1 support on PSN!!!!! (People have asked, and Sony always gives us what we beg for excessively eventually! )

Burnout Paradise

I just recently bought Burnout Paradise for my PS3. Its an awesome game, and I for one, cant beleive how much its still being updated and supported. They've added bikes, weather effects, and night time to the game since its launch. Cops & Robbers

There is a new mode for the online portion of the game called Cops & Robbers. The goal is to find the gold and either bring it to safety (Cops), or run like a bandit. Here is the newest edition of Crash TV, Criterion Games' video podcast, debuting footage of the new mode.

With "Xi", The Line Between the Real and Virtual World is Blurring...

It was just mid-March when Sony unveiled a brand new adventure for users of Playstation Home; Xi. Xi is an astonishingly ambitious new project that will add some much needed content to the Playstation Home experience with treasure-hunt style "expeditions" and many new mini-games and puzzles to solve. However, not only is Xi adding more to the virtual experience of Playstation users, but Xi is also starting to reach into the real world, and actively affect the lives of its players.

I know that probably sounds crazy, but it's true! Now you can even get assigned missions that have to do with the real world! Here's an example; Just yesterday there was a new mission that involved billboards that Sony had placed all over the world in major cities. Our task was to travel to these locations by following clues present in Home, then we had to piece together the clues that were on the billboards in order to form a secret code that we would enter into the game to recieve our reward. (The reward was another piece of an even bigger puzzle!)

This was only the 3rd expedition that we were presented with in Home, so that leads to a few questions; How far will Sony go? Do you think that this is just a small part of Xi? Do you think that Sony won't do something like this again? Now, just think, what if every single Home user started to find clues in their everyday surroundings? They see butterflies (a secret symbol for Xi) within graffitti on city walls, they start to hear conversations about Xi and maybe they even start to see clues on their next train ride? (That's where it looks like Xi is heading next actually!)

Can you imagine not only having a gaming console consumed by the Playstation name, but actually living in a world where the Playstation name was present around every corner, and available in tangible places? Weird, yes, but possible...

No Head in Resistance Retribution Demo

I recently found a glitch in the resistance retribution demo. I have played that demo so many times and it is awesome. I cant wait to get it, if I can. So heres the glitch I found. I was trying to find new ways to play like switching the controls or take no health and I decided to fire off all my ammo and do it melee only. Its a lot of fun just dont fire them off until your done with the Titans. I realized that when I had no ammo or cover, I had no head either. Kinda wierd huh. Also my gun was backwards.

The Twigler

My PS3 is Gone!

If u read that and took it like i meant u 2, u would have thought my
ps3 has been stolen. Well it has, but by my parents. They took it away
because I got suspended from school. Now, i only get 1 hour on it a
week if i do my homework. This sucks cause its at my grandma's freinds
house, and there no wi-fi there which I need 2 get the new Motorstorm
demo. Motorstorm is awesome. I'm not talking about the wimpy 1st one.
I'm talking about no. 2(there, i said it, number two).

I am pretty sure I love music more than most people do. My 2 favorite
genres are Country and Rock. My 2 favorite country artists are Toby Keith
and Kenny Chesney. My favorite song of Toby's is Love Me if You Can.
My favorite song of Kenny's is Summertime.

My 2 favorite rock bands are Metallica and Blue October. Metallica was
just in Tulsa for a concert but I didn't get to go. My favorite song
from Metallica is No Leaf Clover. My favorite song from Blue October
is Dirt Room.

Well, i have been on the internet for a while and thought to myself "Hey, why not make a blog?" at first the idea didn't sound to good, but, what the hay. allow me to introduce myself. I go by fredbob3. my 2 main intersests are music and video games. I'm just learning to expand my music borders and last week bought a PS3.

I gotta tell you, i really made this for people to click on ads and i make some money. So if you see an ad, please, do the wright thing and, let your itchy clicking finger loose. Or at least cut it a little slack.
